(LOS ANGELES) -- Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough have decided to take a break from their relationship and are now living apart, sources tell People. The insiders claim that conflicting work schedules have “proved to be a great challenge" for Seacrest and Hough, but "they are in regular contact and remain friends.”

Representatives for both parties have declined to make any comment on the People magazine report.

The American Idol host and the former Dancing with the Stars pro have been together for two years.

Shortly after news of the split broke, Hough posted an Instagram photograph, showing her and a group of friends, including Nina Dobev of Vampire Diaries, smiling and wearing sunglasses. The picture is tagged "#friendsarethebesttherapy."
