Paul McCartney will release a special limited-edition 12-inch vinyl single featuring two versions of a 1976 live performance of his classic solo tune "Maybe I'm Amazed" on April 20 in conjunction with the upcoming edition of the Record Store Day campaign. The disc will include short and long versions of the performance in both mono and stereo.
The "Maybe I'm Amazed" vinyl single will be a replica of a rare promotional disc that was sent out to radio stations prior to the release of McCartney and his band Wings' 1976 live album, Wings over America. The long version of the tune will be the same as the one that appeared on Wings over America, which was released as a multiple-disc set in December 1976. The collection currently is out of print in the U.S., but unconfirmed reports suggest that it may receive the deluxe reissue treatment later this year.
Record Store Day is an ongoing annual initiative observed on the third Saturday in April during which a wide variety of artists release limited-edition vinyl singles and albums to support independent music stores.
