Phil Lesh and Friends and The Black Crowes have signed on to headline this year's installment of the Gathering of the Vibes festival, which will take place July 25-28 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The lineup for the edition of Phil Lesh and Friends that will perform at the festival includes jazz guitarist John Scofield and alternative-jazz keyboardist John Medeski, as well as drummer Joe Russo and singer/guitarist John Kadlecik of Furthur, the band led by Lesh and fellow Grateful Dead founder Bob Weir.
Other artists set to take the stage at the Gathering of the Vibes include Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Roots, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Funky Meters, Fishbone, Dark Star Orchestra and John Butler Trio. Legendary Woodstock fest emcee Wavy Gravy will host the festivities.
Festival founder Ken Hays says that he chose this year's lineup based on recommendations from fans of the annual event. "Pretty much every year we put out a survey," he tells ABC News Radio. "I think last year we got, probably close to 3,500 to 4,000 responses, and I feel like we really were able to accomplish this mission…to give the VibeTribe faithful that which they were looking for."
