In addition to taking part in a March 14 concert by Dave Grohl's Sound City Players supergroup at the South by Southwest festival, John Fogerty has scheduled his own headlining show at the Austin, Texas, music extravaganza. The former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman and his backing group will play a show at Austin's ACL Live at the Moody Theater on Saturday, March 16, on the evening before the fest comes to an end.
The concert will help Fogerty celebrate the upcoming release of his star-studded collaborative album Wrote a Song for Everyone, which includes a rendition of the CCR classic "Fortunate Son" that the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer recorded with Grohl and his band Foo Fighters.
As previously reported the Sound City Players' Austin show will be held at the Stubb's Bar-B-Q club. Among the other stars who will be performing with the collective are Stevie Nicks, Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen, Rick Springfield and Foo Fighters.
Wrote a Song for Everyone is due out on May 28.
